What would it take to build stronger, fairer connections between grassroots groups and national organisations?
In total 38 people shared their experiences with us, and we put together a report detailing what we heard. We shared our findings with everyone we spoke to.

The two recommendations we took forward
Supporting the bridgers and translators
People and organisations who already work between grassroots groups and national organisations need backing to do that work well.
This became our Bridges for Change programme.
The first Bridges for Change cohort has spent 2026 building genuine relationships between grassroots groups and national organisations. They’re now reflecting on what they’ve learned and choosing their own next steps for deepening that work. We’ll share more once they’re ready.
A grassroots assembly
Grassroots groups need their own infrastructure to connect, learn from each other and build collective power on their own terms.
This became the Grassroots Solidarity Network.
