Infrastructure for groups tackling economic justice
The Grassroots Solidarity Network (GSN) is a growing network of grassroots groups working to tackle economic injustice and its social and environmental impacts.
We want to create the conditions for grassroots groups to build collective power, share learning and support each other, with a view towards strengthening local organising while creating new opportunities for collaboration across places and issues.
The network is rooted in the principle that grassroots groups need to lead. They should be properly resourced, able to learn from and support one another, and able to shape how wider organisations and movements work alongside them.
What the GSN offers
Funded exchanges between grassroots groups, creating opportunities to visit, learn from and support one another.
Support spaces and gatherings where groups can build relationships, develop shared strategies and act together around issues or places.
Free training and learning opportunities, through People’s Economy and partner organisations.
Stories of resistance, hope and imagination, supporting groups to share what is working in their communities and inspire others.
Our Bridges for Change programme in partnership with the Economic Change Unit, exploring stronger and more equitable collaboration between grassroots groups and national new economy organisations.
Support to connect and strengthen other networks that are already bringing groups together.

The network builds on relationships developed through People’s Economy’s programmes and training, while creating room for other place-based and issue-based networks and groups to connect too.
Why this exists
Grassroots groups hold knowledge, relationships and experience that are essential to building a more just economy – but often lack the time, resources and infrastructure to connect their work, learn from one another, and build collective power beyond their immediate campaigns and communities.
The GSN is infrastructure for that connection: solidarity, learning and collective action across places, issues and struggles, while keeping grassroots groups at the centre of shaping what the movement looks like.
